Laura Linney, best known for her strong but weak characters, is among of the most celebrated American actors of the present. She was raised by an unmarried single mother who worked as a nursing assistant. Her interest in the theatre during summers spent with her father, who was famous. Her studies in acting were in Brown University, and later in Juilliard School. After graduating from Brown University she made her Broadway debut in the following year. After two years of this, her first feature film was released and the next year her TV debut. Over the past few years she has appeared in a variety of film, TV and stage plays. She received many accolades during her professional career, including several Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. In spite of all these nominations and awards, her enthusiasm for theater is still there constant, as she performs in the stage and on screen.
